Khloe Kardashian Sells L.A. Home to Big Bang Star
While Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom have not yet finalized their divorce, they were able to quickly unload their Los Angeles-area home. The pair are $1.5 million richer following the sale of the home in Tarzana, a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles.
The 29-year-old reality star and her basketball player ex originally listed the massive property for $4 million, but made the sale at a price of $5.499 million. The home was only in escrow for 10 days. The pair bought the home in 2009, the year they got married, for $3.95 million. Kardashian filed for divorce in December and returned to using her maiden name. Khloe and Lamar lived in the home until their marriage began to crumble last year, in large part due to Odom’s public descent into drugs.
The proud new owners? The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco and her husband Ryan Sweeting, who married one month ago.
The Mediterranean-style home is surrounded by palm trees with a large swimming pool with waterfalls and a spa and an outdoor kitchen and fountain. The villa sits on 3/4 of an acre in the gated Mulholland Park community and boasts a two-story foyer with a sweeping staircase, mosaic tile details, 7 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms with 8,400 square feet of living space.
The property was listed for sale on January 10. It comes as no surprise that is sold so quickly, as the Los Angeles housing market is hot with rising home prices and very limited inventory that’s fueling bidding wars.
Khloe is believed to be shopping for a home in Hidden Hills to be closer to her mother. Lamar’s living situation is unknown but it’s been assumed he does not have a permanent home as he tries to get his life together and find a new team in the NBA>
Khloe had given the home a complete remodel, down to every fixture. The home was featured heavily in the reality show, Khloe & Omar.
The Tarzana mansion is where Khloe cooked for Lamar’s father in their kitchen, and where she tried to spice things up in the bedroom with the former Lakers forward. Khloe’s brother Rob also lived here for many years in one of the extra bedrooms, and friend Malika Haqq visited often.
Kardashian filed for divorce in December 2013. While her mother, Kris Jenner, said her 29-year-old daughter’s situation is heart-breaking, Khloe is rumored to have already moved on. As early as September, the reality star tried to quash rumors that she was selling her former marital home. It was later revealed that the home was indeed secretly listed for a few months, with Khloe driving the sale, telling the agents she wants to “start fresh and move on.”
Khloe also made the news this week when her sister, Kim, dropped the bombshell that Khloe is not infertile as many thought, she was just not ready to get pregnant given the marital problems with Lamar.
